August 27th: ‘Greek Cafes & Milk Bars of Australia’
To be held at “Tarella” historic house, 99-101 Blaxland Road, Wentworth Falls.
Presented by social historian Leonard Janiszewski and accompanied by unique archival historical images and contemporary photographs taken by documentary photographer Effy Alexakis, the lectures will not only look at the overall development of Greek cafés and milk bars, but also the personal stories of those involved.
The long-awaited Greek café and milk bar book (same title as the lecture), published by Halstead Press, will be available for purchase at the Paragon. Price – $49.95.

September 17th-18th Friends of the Paragon Cake Baking and Decorating Competition.
To be held at the Paragon Cafe, 65 Katoomba Street Katoomba.
To celebrate the Centenary of the Paragon Cafe in Katoomba, the Friends of the
Paragon are holding a Cake Baking and Decorating Competition.
This is a Free to enter competition. The Judges and Stewards will be provided from The
Cake Decorators Guild of NSW Inc. Cakes will be on public display in the Blue Room at the
Paragon Cafe Katoomba 17-18 September from 10am-5pm. Entry by gold coin donation with
proceeds to support The Friends of the Paragon activities. All welcome!
September 3rd Blue Mountains Radio Players Performing LIVE.
To be held at the Paragon Cafe, 65 Katoomba Street Katoomba, in the Banquet Hall.
In conjunction with Blue Mountains Radio Players, the Friends of the
Paragon present the fifty-minute radio play “Arsenic and Old Lace”. It starts at 2pm and afternoon tea is included in the price of admission.
Entry is $15, cash at the door.
